The Web Writers' Collective (WWC) is a community-run space for people who write on the web to discuss the culture of writing online, and to connect and collaborate on projects with like-minded writers. I'm proud to be one of its organisers.

If you write online, whether it's fiction, non-fiction, poetry, life writing, personal blog posts, or anything in-between, then I'd love for you to apply to join us!

What we do

At WWC we discuss topics centred around the craft of writing, especially online:

  • Your writing projects that you'd like some feedback on
  • The culture of writing on the web: what to share, how to share, whom to share with
  • Working through specific challenges—articulating an idea, finding inspiration, getting past writer's block
  • Community events such as the IndieWeb Carnival, Blaugust, and the Bear Blog Carnival

We keep our focus on writing itself rather than blog set-ups, self-promotion, or technical documentation—plenty of other spaces exist for those.

We're working on our first issue of Anthologies, our community zine. It will carry contributions from WWC members and be published online-only. We also have a webring!

Our forum

Our Discourse forum is active and growing. Some parts are publicly visible, but much more opens up once you're a member. We protect our members' privacy with members-only spaces. It's a fun and respectful environment where people can feel confident sharing their work and excited about collaborating with others.

Join us

Membership is by application only. Fill out our short application form. If you know an existing member, they can also propose your membership, though you'll still need to submit an application.

I made these 88x31 badges for the collective. Grab one for your own site:
