If something here resonated with you, consider directing support to organizations doing meaningful work in the world. This page is a collection of causes and communities that matter to me. Some are local to Treaty 7 territory, some address urgent global crises, all are working toward liberation and care.

I don't benefit from any of these links. This is just about using whatever small platform I have to point toward good work.

Local to Calgary & Treaty 7 Territory

Indigenous Organizations

Miskanawah

International Solidarity

Palestine

Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF)
Established in 1992, PCRF provides medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout Palestine and the Levant. They've received Charity Navigator's 4-star rating for twelve consecutive years. Currently providing lifesaving medical care, food, and support to orphans in Gaza.

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
UK-based charity working for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. Has provided healthcare and humanitarian support to nearly one million Palestinians across Gaza in 2024-2025.

UNRWA
United Nations Relief and Works Agency providing vital aid, education, and healthcare to over 5 million Palestine refugees. Their Zakat program is Sharia-compliant with 100% of contributions going directly to refugees in need.

Anera
Since 1968, Anera has been providing both emergency relief and long-term development projects for Palestinians, helping refugees and those affected by conflict in Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan.

Democratic Republic of Congo

International Rescue Committee - DRC
Provides vital support to Congolese recovering from decades of conflict, ongoing violence, and widespread disease. Working in eastern DRC where displacement and humanitarian needs are immense.

Oxfam - DRC Crisis

Sudan

Mutual Aid Sudan Coalition
Partners with Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs)—grassroots networks of Sudanese citizens, many young people, who organized locally when formal systems collapsed. Grounded in the principle of nafeer (collective action). Featured in the New York Times as a model of community-led humanitarian response.

International Rescue Committee - Sudan
Sudan topped IRC's 2025 Emergency Watchlist. With nearly 25 million people in humanitarian need and the world's worst displacement crisis, IRC has scaled up efforts despite immense challenges.

UNHCR - Sudan Emergency
Working to provide protection and life-saving support to nearly 13 million displaced Sudanese, including 4.2 million refugees who have fled to neighboring countries. The 2025 response plan remains critically underfunded.

Sudanese American Physicians' Association (SAPA)
Healthcare-focused organization addressing the Sudan civil war, cholera outbreaks, flood relief, and the water crisis. Provides medical supplies, humanitarian aid, and long-term infrastructure support.

Other Ways to Give

Amplifying Voices

Sometimes the most valuable thing isn't money—it's attention. Share the work of Indigenous creators, queer artists, Palestinian journalists, Congolese activists, Sudanese organizers. Use whatever platform you have to make their voices louder.

Mutual Aid Networks

Look for mutual aid groups in your own community. Direct, no-middleman support for neighbors in need. Check social media, community boards, or local organizing spaces.

Your Own Work

The most authentic form of giving might be doing your own work—creating things that matter, building spaces that welcome people, writing honestly, coding ethically, showing up for your community.

A Note on Charity

I'm skeptical of the charity-industrial complex. I don't think donations alone fix systemic problems. We need political change, wealth redistribution, decolonization, abolition. But while we work toward those larger transformations, people need support now. These organizations are doing that work with integrity.

If you can't give money, that's okay. Mutual aid isn't just about cash—it's about care, time, skills, presence. Find what you can offer.
